Soft white wood, such as albasia wood, pine wood, fir wood etc. are good raw materials for making horse bedding. One of our Indonesian customers has the albasia wood waste from the sawmills such as wood slabs, wood chips, etc. He will recycle the waste to produce high quality horse bedding products.

The inherent properties of soft bedding chips including:
  • Soft chip bedding that stays put;
  • Comfortable and warm for the horses in winter, yet cool in summer;
  • Dust extracted - helping to maintain a healthy respiratory system for horse and human;
  • Sterilized without the use of any chemicals - for a cleaner, healthier horse;
  • Odor elimination properties - reducing the smell of ammonia in the air;
  • Does not attract vermin as with other bedding material such as straw;
  • "Stay-dry" top layer - the soft chip bedding stack allows liquids to run through and be absorbed at the bottom of the stack, whilst allowing the top parts to dry off and remain warm for the horse.
Processing technology of the soft chip bedding is not complex, chipping the soft wood into small chips firstly, then dry the soft chips. The size of the chips can be customized. The moisture of the soft chip, which would affect the quality of the products directly, is the most important point.
 
The soft chip dryer we delivered to our customer is a single layer rotary drum dryer, as a pilot project. It has a diameter of 2 meters, and length of 11 meters. The drum can be loaded in a 40’ GP container.

It is one of our rotary dryers especially for drying wood chips. The design of steel shoveling plates can shovel the chips up and down while the drum is rotating, which make sure that the wood chips are dried evenly inside the drum. The spark-killing system and the anti-explosion design guarantee the safe operation.
