Technology introduction:
SIMEC biomass pyrolysis research platform is designed to test & research the pyrolysis process of different kinds of solid phase raw materials, such as woody biomass, agro residues, waste plastics, solid recover fuel, refuse derived fuel, and other carbon-containing substances.
 
Thanks to an advanced temperature control and monitoring system, the equipment can pyrolyze raw materials in accordance with predefined temperature settings. It also allows for a full range of pyrolysis experiments, such as torrefaction and carbonization. The sensitive sensors provide high-precision experimental data, including pyrolysis temperature, gas flow rate, gas composition and thermal value.

The research platform integrates several major components as follows:
1. Biomass metering unit.
2. Biomass loader.
3. Moving-bed pyrolysis reactor.
4. Thermal air oxidation module.
5. Automatic monitoring unit of carbon weight & yield ratio.
6. Syngas condensation & purification system.
7. Syngas flow meter.
8. Syngas online monitoring and analysis module.
9. Syngas reforming module.
10. PLC control cabinet, and process monitoring system.
11. Comprehensive data logging module.
12. Research equipment management system.
13. Far distance monitoring & control module.
14. Operation platform, etc.

Technical parameters:
1. Raw material requirement:small particle solid phase raw materials, moisture content ≤15%, particle size ≤ 20~30 mm.
2. Biomass processing capacity:5~10 Kg/H. Available products: biochar, activated carbon, bio-oil and engineered synthetic gases.
3. Pyrolysis temperature range: 200-1100℃, control precision ±1℃, multiple zone control of pyrolysis temperature, residence time adjustable.
4. Heat source: uniquely designed electric heating system.
5. Equipped with PLC control system, data logger, process monitor & analysis software which can generate curve graphs. All the running parameters will be monitored and logged.
6. Overall dimensions fit to be loaded in 20GP standard shipping container.
7. All the biomass and syngas contact parts are made of stainless steel.

Technical features:
1. The research platform is equipped with an intelligent temperature controlling & monitoring system, which ensures high-precision and stable reaction temperature.
2. Precise adjustment and control of pyrolysis reaction atmosphere.
3. Recovery of condensable liquid product. Accessible gas sampling.
4. Before delivery, all mechanical and electrical components are mounted on operation platform and commissioned by SIMEC.
5. Syngas online monitoring and analysis module enables the researcher to gain complete data of synthetic gas, such as composition, proportion, thermal value, etc., and to graph dynamic data curves.
6. Syngas reforming module is designed to conduct the research programs of syngas composition engineering, upgrading, tar cracking, etc.
