Here’s an example to show you how to calculate the wood sawdust dryer’s capacity:

I, Raw Material and Process Requirement:
Material: Wood sawdust
Original moisture content: 45%
Dry material moisture content: 15%
Equipment specification: triple-layer, 2.4m*12m (outside diameter)
II, Temperature of Each Stage:
Inner Stove: 350 ℃ (hot air)
Input Rotary Drum: 270~300 ℃ (hot air)
Output: 90~110 ℃ (hot air)
Output: 50~60 ℃ (material, finished product)
III Calculation Process:
1, Set x as how many kilos dry material could be produced by one ton of raw material,
and then: 1 * (1-45%) = x * (1-15%), get x=0.6471
2, Area Calculation of Rotary Drum:
① Outer Layer:
Circumference * Length → 2 * π * R * 14 → 2 * 3.14 * 1.2 * 14 = 105.504m2
② Middle Layer
Circumference * Length → 2 * π * R * (14-0.5) → 2 * 3.14 * (1.2-0.25) * 13.5 = 80.541m2
③ Inner Layer:
Circumference * Length → 2 * π * R * (14-0.5) → 2 * 3.14 * (0.95-0.25) * 13.5 = 59.346m2
Total: ① + ② + ③  = 245.391m2
3, The evaporation capacity per square meter per 24 hours: 218kg;
4, Total evaporation capacity is: 245.391 * 218kg = 53495.238kg = 53.495238 tons;
5, The evaporation water of one ton raw material: 1-0.6471t = 0.3529t;
6, Set x as quantity of raw material (tons) which could produce 53.495238 tons water, and
x*0.3529 = 53.495238, then get x = 151.5875 tons;
7, The total capacity of drying system: 151.5875 * 0.6471 = 98.09227125 tons;
8, Output capacity per hour: 98.09227125÷24h = 4.09t/h;
9, Process of raw material per hour: 151.5875 ÷24h = 6.316t/h.
